Tolu is a highly accomplished graphic designer, illustrator and author with extensive experience of delivering innovative design solutions with passion, creative flair and originality. He possesses a profound background knowledge of design principles, techniques and tools to align strategic and creative vision with client objectives and user needs, and has a genuine ability to envision and develop fresh ideas and concepts into bespoke and original designs.
Tolu originally graduated with a BSc Honours degree in Architecture in his native Nigeria, and subsequently went on to study 3D Character Animation at Central St Martins College of Art & Design, in London. The discipline of Architecture equipped him with valuable tools which he was able to translate into the graphic design sphere. Initially holding roles as a 3D Visualizer and a 3D Artist respectively, he went on to establish his own design agency, Imaginovation, in 2003, working on a wide range of freelance projects, designing a variety of graphic materials for print and web.
In conjunction with his graphic design work, Tolu is writing and illustrating his own series of children’s books, as well as undertaking several commissions to illustrate the work of other children’s authors. He is working towards self-publishing his books in the near future.
Tolu is conscientious and client-oriented, always delivering work within agreed timescales and budgets. He is adept at successfully balancing and coordinating several projects simultaneously, without ever losing sight of the bigger picture. He has a genuine love and enjoyment for designing and illustration, and a true enthusiasm for self expression. He is not a run-of-the-mill designer. He has a proven ability to develop original and innovative designs with a ‘think outside the box’ approach, and an exceptional level of detail. He constantly strives to achieve the highest level of quality and excellence in all his endeavours.
